Leveraging our acumen in fighting voice fraud, the i3Forum’s Fight Messaging Fraud Workgroup created the Messaging Disputes Process Document, designed to combat SMS fraud. With SMS Fraud steadily increasing, the i3Forum aims at providing guidance for handling Artificial Inflated Traffic (AIT) on SMS. Based on our previous experience related to International Voice Fraud, i3Forum provides new definitions and use cases for AIT both on A2P and P2P messaging traffic streams. We also provide a recommended SMS fraud dispute process that can be applied homogeneously in the industry. These standardized definitions and supporting recommendations have been shared with other industry bodies to increase global awareness and strengthen the overall ecosystem’s ability to fight messaging fraud.
