i3 FORUM HOLDS ITS 2nd ANNUAL CONFERENCE
International Telecom Experts Discuss “Transitioning the Industry to IP” in Washington D.C.
WASHINGTON, D.C. – MAY 17, 2011 – i3 Forum, a collaborative communications forum including 39 telecommunication providers representing a combined retail base in excess of 1.5 billion customers in over 100 countries, today announced that it will hold its 2nd Annual i3 Forum Conference in Washington D.C. on Thursday, May 26 at the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel, following International Telecoms Week (ITW) 2011.
This year’s conference theme, “Transitioning the Industry to IP” will cover the challenges and benefits of transforming to IP-based environments and focus on topics including: streamlining IP interoperability processes, ensuring an optimum end-user experience, maximizing voice service flexibility, IPX in the real world and why IP interconnection matters to the business of voice.
“Our second event following ITW will provide attendees very concrete and hands-on solutions on how to transition to IP,” said Philippe Millet, Chairman of the i3 Forum. “This year’s event will focus on practical demonstrations of research, results and varying business and service perspectives. Like the i3 Forum itself, it will continue the IP conversation – focusing on what is taking place now and in the future and how carriers can innovate in the face of changing standards and regulations.”
From 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., telecommunications experts will speak from companies all over the world including: Acme Packet, Ericsson, FT-Orange, IETF/SIP Forum, KPN Ibasis, Neustar, PTGI, Sonus Networks, Tata Communications, Telecom Italia Sparkle, Verizon Communications, among others, on how to transition to IP, the benefits of this transition and how this move is quickly evolving the telecom industry.
